Volunteer work
The first task her grandfather had set for her was to work as a volunteer. Olivia was a bit nervous about this, as she had been selfish for so many years. She barely knew how to be kind to others without expecting something back anymore. She spent a few days finding courage, but she was determined to succeed.
Olivia spent her first day at the charity center feeling overwhelmed and out of her element. Finding a job

A new job
Olivia spent hours researching the companies on the list, trying to learn as much as she could about each one. Confidence
As the weeks went by, Olivia’s confidence grew and she started to feel more and more at home at her new job. Meanwhile she had moved into her grandfather’s house and began to take care of it as if it were her own. The house reminded her of her childhood there and how good her grandfather had been for her all her life. Some days she just wanted to leave because the guilt of leaving him would take over. She realized that she used to run away for her feelings because that was the easier option. This time, for once in her life, she wouldn’t run away and she would make her grandfather proud. Even though he wasn’t there to see it anymore, she felt his spirit with her. But was it really his spirit that she felt with her?
The last task
After months of hard work and dedication, Olivia completed the last of her grandfather’s tasks. She knew that she had proven herself worthy of her grandfather’s trust and his fortune.
Although she was glad that she had learned so much and changed into a better human being, she also felt sad that it was too late now, because her grandfather wasn’t there to see it anymore. At least that’s what she thought…
Lawyers office
When Olivia went to the lawyers office to claim her inheritance, she felt a wave of emotion wash over her. She was overwhelmed by the realization that her grandfather had spent his final weeks planning a lesson for her, and at first, she was only focused on the money she would receive. Olivia was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t even notice the person standing in front of her. However, when this person turned to look at her, it was as if she had seen a ghost. She couldn’t believe what she just saw. She went pale and jumped out of her chair.
Hallucinating
Olivia locked herself in the bathroom and tried to calm herself down. She couldn’t believe what she had seen, and thought she must have been hallucinating.
Olivia gave herself a pep talk and started to feel a little better, but just as she was beginning to calm down, she heard a knock on the bathroom door. She gasped and froze in fear, unsure of what to do. When Olivia finally opened the door, she was shocked by what she saw.
Teaching her a lesson
Her heart skipped a beat when she saw her grandfather standing in front of her, smiling gently. “I’m so sorry I had to lie to you my dear, he said, “I’m so proud of you. You’ve learned so much in the last few weeks and I can see that you are ready to take on the world.”. Olivia was speechless, tears streaming down her face. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing and hearing, but as she looked into her grandfather’s eyes, she knew that it was really him. He had faked his own death in order to teach her a lesson, and he had been watching her every step of the way.
Olivia’s mind was racing as she tried to make sense of what was happening. She couldn’t believe that her grandfather, who she thought was gone forever, was standing right in front of her, alive and well. She was overwhelmed with emotions – shock, disbelief, relief, and joy. She wanted to hug him and never let go, but at the same time, she was angry at him for lying to her and causing her so much pain.
He faked his own death
“Grandpa, why did you do this?” she asked, her voice shaking with emotion. “I thought you were dead. I thought I had lost you forever.”
Her grandfather’s smile faltered, and he looked at her with a mix of sadness and pride. “I’m sorry, Olivia, for the pain and confusion I caused you. But I had to do this in order to teach you a lesson. You were so focused on the money you would inherit that you didn’t see the value of the lessons I was trying to teach you. I wanted to show you that there are more important things in life than money and possessions. I wanted to help you grow and become the strong, independent woman I know you can be. And I’m so proud of how far you’ve come.”
Appreciation
Olivia was shocked and confused, but she couldn’t help but admire her grandfather’s ingenuity. She had never thought that he would go to such lengths to teach her a lesson, but she knew that he loved her and wanted the best for her.
She sat down with her grandfather and they talked for hours, discussing the lessons he had been trying to teach her and how she had changed as a person. Although she was angry, Olivia felt a wave of understanding wash over her. She realized that her grandfather’s plan had worked, and she had learned so much in the last few weeks. Her grandfather’s smile returned, and he hugged her tightly. “I love you too, my dear. And I will always be with you, guiding and supporting you on your journey. You are strong, capable, and deserving of everything life has to offer.”

With her grandfather by her side, Olivia felt like she could accomplish anything. As she left the lawyer’s office, she felt a sense of closure and a new sense of purpose.
