Take a good look at your hands, they tell you a lot about your health!
Your body is a great machine that tells you everything about the state of your health. All you have to do is learn to look well! For example, your hands are an important indicator of what is going on in your body—they give you all kinds of signals you should never ignore.
What should you pay attention to? Below are a number of ways your hands tell you something about your health that you would not normally consider.
Tingling in hands and fingers
This may mean that you do not get enough of the vitamins B1, B6, B12, and/or vitamin E. Pay attention to your diet. If you feel this sensation in your hand or feet, introduce dietary supplements to your daily routine. If in doubt, visit your doctor.
Blue fingertips
This indicates poor circulation or low oxygen levels in the blood. Often it is not harmful, but if it is accompanied by pneumonia, it can be a sign of lung disease. Always call the doctor if you’re concerned.
Feeling numbness in fingertips
This too may indicate problems with blood circulation. However, it can also be the result of a pinched nerve or cardiovascular disease.
White or blue, numb fingers
This can be a sign of Buerger’s disease. This condition leads to increasing inflammation in the small and medium blood vessels. It is often a result of heavy smoking.
Pale nail bed
If you press on your nail bed for a while it will turn white, but then pink again. This is normal. However, if the nail bed remains white, this may be a sign of iron deficiency.
Shaking hands
First, pay attention to your caffeine intake and stress level. Too much stress and coffee can cause vibrations in your hands. Does this not explain it? Then visit your doctor. It can be an early sign of Parkinson’s.
Red, spotty palms
If this lingers, go to the doctor. It can be an early sign of a liver disease.
Swollen fingers
This is usually the result of too much salt. Try to eat less and see if it helps you retain less water.
Sweaty palms
This may be the result of an overactive thyroid gland. If you suffer from it very often, call your doctor.
