This Is How You Can Tell If Someone Has Had Plastic Surgery Done

You can recognise it by a number of things

These days it seems to be becoming more and more normal to visit the plastic surgeon. Lip fillers, botox or a tear duct treatment are some examples of things you can have done. Sometimes they are not even that noticeable and people only see it if they actually know the other person has had a treatment for it. Still, there are definitely landmarks by which you can tell if someone has had treatment done.

The best treatment at the plastic surgeon is subtle transformation. A transformation where people will think that you simply look young for your age, not where they think “oh, that person has had some adjustments”. We give you some examples that plastic surgery often gives away.

Pulled look

The most common feature by which a cosmetic procedure can be recognised is a “pulled look”. This is particularly noticeable in people who have had an old-fashioned facelift done. You can recognize this by bald spots in the temple, pulled-out earlobes, visible scars placed at the front of the face, instead of in the ear, wide, shaded scars and stretched lips. These are all telling signs of an ‘old’ facelift. The facial contour, so to speak, no longer looks natural.

Pixie ear

Another striking feature is the so-called pixie ear. Normally you have a round earlobe, but in people where plastic surgery did not go quite right, the earlobe is no longer round. A so-called pixie ear is like an elongated earlobe. This earlobe is the result of pulling on the earlobe after a facelift. This is because the facelift is attached only to the skin, rather than to the cartilage of the ear. This causes the earlobes to pull downward.

Breasts

For the third anomaly, we’ll step away from the face for a moment and move on to breast implants. Because even with breast implants, sometimes things go wrong and you can easily see that someone has had a breast augmentation done. One characteristic is wrinkles on the side of the breasts when a woman bends over. This is due to the wrinkling of the implants, which is especially worse with saline implants.

Breasts can also look “hard”. If you hug someone and it feels like two melons on their chest, she may have excess scar tissue around breast implants called capsular contracture. This makes the breasts feel hard.

Belly

In addition to breast augmentations and facelifts, you can also visit the plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck. If not done properly, tummy tuck surgery can cause umbilical cords that are too round, too narrow or too tight and have a visible circular scar around them. This gives your belly button an odd shape, which is therefore noticeable.

You can also get a lattice belly through a tummy tuck. You see this especially in men who have had liposuction done. Their abdomen looks almost like a waffle because of this. There are a number of reasons for this: one is that the anatomical structures are fascial ligaments that are inserted into the skin and these are never symmetrical in nature. When a surgeon makes it too symmetrical and doesn’t follow the natural line, you get a waffle belly. You can also compare it to a small beer belly that suddenly has six-pack lines.
